Camps and retreats

All students in each Year level attend annual camps and retreats. Each focuses on a specific outcome with age appropriate activities for each Year level.

Year 7 and 8 camps are held at the Sunshine Coast, early in the year during Term 1. The three day camps offer a great opportunity for the girls to get to know each other in an informal, fun and relaxed setting.

Year 9 camp has more of an outdoor focus. Each year the camp is held at Woodford, North West of Caboolture. The girls are challenged over five days through a series of outdoor activities run by Adventure Alternatives.

Year 10 camp is held near Helidon in the Lockyer Valley. The main focus for the camp is teamwork, enabling the girls to identify their own strengths, through a series of activities working in groups.

Students in Years 7 to 10 also attend a one day retreat, held at the School or in a local retreat centre.  The retreats are organised by the Deputy Principal, Director of Mission and provide students with the opportunity for contemplation and prayer.

At the beginning of Term 3, the Year 11 retreat is held at Mount Tamborine and is focused on developing servant leadership. The retreat helps the girls to discover their own and others’ leadership potential, as they prepare to become Student Leaders.

The Year 12 retreat is held at Alexandra Headland and offers students three days in which to reflect on their spiritual journey as well as their relationships with each other and their families. The retreat also begins preparing students at a deeper level for their departure from Stuartholme.
