Music
Stuartholme School offers a broad range of musical performance opportunities. Participation fosters a sense of perseverance and achievement, improving responsibility, time management and organisational skills. With over 280 instrumental and vocal lessons taking place each week and 18 ensembles on offer, the musical arts is a bustling hub of activity. Students are encouraged to perform in at least one of the following major events:
- ‘Music & More’ Concerts
- Inter-House Music Festival
- Celebration of Excellence (graduation) Ceremony
- Instrumental and Vocal Soirees
- Open Day
- School Christmas Carols
- Queensland Catholic Schools Music Festival
Students may also participate in workshops, tours and performances outside School-hours. Some of these include recording studio workshops, ensemble workshops and music camps.
Ensembles
Students are encouraged to join one of the School’s music groups or ensembles. Rehearsals are held weekly and all girls are required to make a year-long commitment. Groups and ensembles offered include:

Private Music Tuition
Individual and group private tuition is available for the following instruments: bass guitar, bassoon, clarinet, cello, double bass, euphonium, flute, french horn, guitar, saxophone, oboe, percussion, piano, tuba, trombone, trumpet, theory, voice, violin, viola.
Instrument Hire
A large number of instruments are available for hire for the first year of tuition.
